The Trust Point Young Professionals (TPYP) group met in La Crosse on Monday, February 17th for their first quarter 2025 event. The theme for this quarter’s meeting was “Past, Present, & Future of TPYP.” Randy Van Rooyen, SVP of Strategic Relationships, kicked the meeting off by sharing some of the key skills he has learned throughout his career. He emphasized the importance of adaptability, and encouraged everyone to view challenges as opportunities for growth.
The group then had the ability to ask questions of a panel featuring Leslie Meulemans and Jennifer Sampson, who both have taken on leadership roles within the company since joining TPYP. They were joined by President and CEO Bill Bosch, as well as Chief Administrative Officer Jill Taylor. The panel discussed the origins of TPYP in 2018 and how the reach of the group has expanded over the years, now contributing to the growth of the company as a whole through the mentorship program, community outreach projects, and leadership roles taken on by members. Leslie and Jennifer both acknowledged the role TPYP has had in their own professional development, giving them an opportunity to hone their leadership, communication, and planning skills in a safe and supportive environment.
After the panel, TPYP members had the opportunity to hear from Natalie Olsen, Brenda Flanagan, Brian Boyer, and Brenna Johnson, who provided a brief overview of their career history before joining Trust Point and gave some insight into what drew them to the company. The guest speakers noted the importance of a healthy work environment, a supportive leadership group, and having colleagues who encourage learning and asking questions. They also gave advice to TPYP members, highlighting the value of mentorship and maintaining a curious mindset.
Bill Bosch then led the group in a session on “Raising the Bar”. He stressed how continuous improvement is vital to the growth of the company. He challenged each member to think of ways they can improve client service, both internally and externally. Members then split into groups to create individual goals in an effort to “Raise the Bar” in their role.
To end the day, the group was joined by Angi Strangman, Chief Marketing Officer. Angi gave an overview of her unique career journey from auditor to marketer, and spoke of the importance of an organization having a clear mission and vision statement. The group then split into groups to create TPYP’s very own mission and vision statement. We look forward to sharing more on those in the future!
