Over 600 communities across the nation hold Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, the largest event raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, support, and care.
It was a beautiful day for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in La Crosse on September 17th. Participants of all ages gathered in Riverside Park for the Opening Promise Garden Ceremony and to begin the walk, which was kicked off by the UW La Crosse Screaming Eagles marching band.
Over $68,000 in funds were raised and nearly 250 walkers participated in the walk.
A new, local non-profit organization, EndAlz Fest is taking it a step further. Their mission is to raise funds to help support for the care-givers of individuals with Alzheimers. They held the inaugural event, immediately following the Alzheimer’s walk and raised over $19,000. They are hoping to make this an annual event and help even more people impacted by the disease.
