COVID-19 has increased the stress-level for many people given the uncertainty of health and financial situations. Unfortunately, this can lead to higher rates of abuse. Learning that April is Child Abuse Awareness month, Trust Point reached out to the Family & Children’s Center to help. FCC plays a big part in the prevention and ongoing assistance of many difficult family situations through their in-person counseling efforts. With the COVID stay-at-home orders these counseling sessions now needed to be done virtually. However, FCC’s current technology, would severely limit the ability to provide counseling to everyone who needed it.
That is why Trust Point is donating $6,000 to The Family & Children’s Center to help upgrade their telehealth equipment. This will allow children and their families to continue to receive the services FCC provides through concurrent virtual sessions. Trust Point has been around for over a century, so we have been through a number of challenging situations. We are fortunate to be a strong organization and are committed to helping where we can, in the communities we serve, especially during these unprecedented times. The donation to the FCC makes it easier for them to continue to offer their counseling sessions in a virtual environment. Their services are vital to the health and well-being of many children and families in our area who maybe struggling with their situations, now more than ever before. We appreciate what FCC is doing to ensure these families and especially the children are continuing to receive the assistant they need.
