Trust Point

History

In the first decade of the twentieth century, individuals and business owners in La Crosse, Wisconsin needed help administering their estates and managing their assets, but there was no trust company within 80 miles. In 1913, six men with ties to banking responded to this by founding LaCrosse Trust Company.

When the Great Depression ravaged the region in the 1930’s, LaCrosse Trust--renamed Trust Point Inc. in 2008-- served as a safe haven. In the boom decades of the fifties and sixties, the company boomed too, adding profit sharing, retirement planning, tax planning, and investment management.

The company’s growing reputation and the public’s interest in IRAs and 401(k) plans helped fuel even more growth in the 1980’s, when the company first reached $100 million in assets. Now, just 25 years later, the company is seventeen times larger.

Our greatest asset may be our independence. Because we are not owned by a bank, mutual fund company or insurance company, we can objectively recommend the best financial options for every client, rather than feeling partial to a collection of proprietary products.
